چکیده

This work investigates the non-catalyzed supercritical methanol (SCM) process for continuous biodiesel production. The lab-scale setup was designed and used production in temperature range of 520–650 K 83–380 bar with an oil-to-methanol molar ratio ranging from 1:5 to 1:45. experiments were performed coiled plug flow tubular reactor. volumetric rate methanol/oil ranged 0.1–10 mL/min. examines a new reactor technology involving preheating pre-mixing mixture reduce cost increase yield under same reaction conditions. Work showed that FAME’s increased rapidly pressure above critical points (i.e., 513 79.5 bar). best methyl-ester using this 91% at 590 351 bars 39 15-min residence time. Furthermore, kinetics free catalyst transesterification studied different

A Continuous Extraction and Pumpless Supercritical CO2 Drying System for Laboratory-Scale Aerogel Production

Production of aerogels starts with solution chemistry and may end with supercritical carbon dioxide drying, which both require a specialized system. Here we present a complete aerogel production system that was developed and used in our laboratory over the last nine years. Our aim was to develop a supercritical dryer and a protocol, whereby the CO2 pump can be left out, and the entire flow syst...

Non-catalytic biodiesel fuel production with supercritical methanol technologies

Study presents that supercritical methanol has the ability to convert oils/fats consisting of triglycerides and free fatty acids (FFAs) into fatty acid methyl esters through transesterification and methyl esterification, respectively, without any catalyst. This one-step method (Saka process) is simpler process realizing shorter reaction time and higher yield of methyl esters than those of the c...

Continuous Production of Biodiesel from Vegetable Oil Using Supercritical Ethanol/carbon Dioxide Mixtures

Biodiesel production is worthy of continued study and optimization of production procedures because of its environmentally beneficial attributes and its renewable nature. Transesterification of triglycerides using supercritical ethanol on ionexchange resin catalyst was investigated to study the ethyl ester conversion process. The reaction parameters investigated were the reaction time, pressure...

Supercritical synthesis of biodiesel.

The synthesis of biodiesel fuel from lipids (vegetable oils and animal fats) has gained in importance as a possible source of renewable non-fossil energy in an attempt to reduce our dependence on petroleum-based fuels. The catalytic processes commonly used for the production of biodiesel fuel present a series of limitations and drawbacks, among them the high energy consumption required for comp...

Continuous Production of Lipase-Catalyzed Biodiesel in a Packed-Bed Reactor: Optimization and Enzyme Reuse Study

An optimal continuous production of biodiesel by methanolysis of soybean oil in a packed-bed reactor was developed using immobilized lipase (Novozym 435) as a catalyst in a tert-butanol solvent system. Response surface methodology (RSM) and Box-Behnken design were employed to evaluate the effects of reaction temperature, flow rate, and substrate molar ratio on the molar conversion of biodiesel....
